1. Agreement

By booking a journey with MBE Minicabs Ltd ("MBE Minicabs", "we", "our") — via our website, app, phone, WhatsApp, or in person — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Our Service

We provide licensed private-hire transport in Harwich, Essex and surrounding areas. All drivers and vehicles are licensed, insured for hire and reward, and hold valid MOT and tax.

3. Bookings

Bookings can be made by phone, app, website, or WhatsApp.
A booking is confirmed only when we acknowledge it and provide a booking reference.
Quotes are provisional until a driver is assigned and accept the trip.
We may refuse a booking for safety, capacity, service-area, or legal-compliance reasons.

4. Fares & Payment

All fares are shown in GBP and are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Cash payment is accepted — please have the correct amount where possible.
Waiting-time, stop-over, or extra-luggage fees (if any) will be agreed with you before they are charged.

5. Cancellations & No-Shows

We currently operate a free-cancellation policy — you can cancel at any time before the journey starts at no charge. If a driver arrives at the agreed pickup and the passenger cannot be located after a reasonable wait, we may mark the booking as a no-show.

6. Your Conduct

Please treat our drivers with respect.
Drivers may refuse to carry any passenger who is aggressive, intoxicated to the point of risk, or who cannot identify their destination.
Soiling charges may apply if a vehicle is left uncleanable after a journey.
Seatbelts must be worn as required by UK law.

7. Lost Property

Please call 01255 442244 if you think you have left something in one of our vehicles. We will do our best to recover it, but we are not liable for items left behind.

8. Liability

Our liability is limited to the direct cost of the fare for the journey in question, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited (for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

9. Privacy

Personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated on our website or in-app.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
